The tunes on this CD are some of the favourites of The Little Tinkers. As they worked with different callers over the years, new tunes enriched their repertoire. 0fl the other hand, the band members themselves are always looking for good dance music - and that is another way of expanding their core programme.

Music for the English country dances
Four tunes come from The Dancing Master (1651-c. 1728).

Music for New England squares and contras
In the New England tradition, the tunes for country dancing come from a variety of origins, as there are Scottish, Irish, French Canadian, among others. Most of the tunes on this CD are traditional. The band learned some from recordings and books; others, they have just 'always' played.

New England style dances can be found in the
accompanying book (Philippe Callens).
It also contains the music for the English dances edited by Mik Lammers.
